|Description:||Client supervision and program operations. Implement all Agency policies and procedures pertaining to the safety and security of clients, Agency property and the community. Provide safe environment while facilitating counseling, advocacy, and support.|
Human Service Worker I generally work during the third shift when clients are sleeping or in some cases, during the first shift in residences where clients are not in the building during the day.
|Duties:||Maintain accountability for clients’ location at all times.|
Collect urine samples and complete related paperwork and breathalyzer testing as required by contract.
Inspect client rooms, facility common areas and outside perimeter on daily basis to include alarms, doors, all window and door locks, lighting and fire safety equipment.
Supervise client meals and kitchen area.
Monitor client visiting and maintain visiting log--
Coordinate discharges with referral agencies.
Monitor client behavior and implements Agency behavior management procedures as needed.
Mediate and resolve client problems.
Resolve all emergency situations in accordance with Agency policies and procedures.
Complete intake paperwork and assist in client orientation as assigned.
Coordinate and schedule client assignments to community service projects and assist with supervision of client at work sites.
Supervise client work assignments and check for satisfactory completion.
Monitor client money as applicable.
Serve as positive role model following program guidelines for professional conduct and code of ethics.
Develop and maintain professional boundaries and relations with clients.
Assist clients in working on program goals and provide client services in areas of growth and responsibility, education, vocation, legal, family and friends.
Conduct sanitation and safety inspections of all internal and external areas and equipment.
Document all shift activities and incidents in log.
Maintain safety, appearance and cleanliness of the facility.
Respond to client and program crises and report incidents to supervisor as detailed in program incident reporting procedures.
Maintain a working knowledge of and abide by the Agency’s programs, policies, and procedures, including, but not limited to: client supervision, key control, head counts, rounds of the facility, monitoring of client location and visitors, emergency procedures, and inspections.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
|Qualifications:||Two years of college plus one year of experience in the social service field (preferred) or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Education may be substituted with relevant experience on a one year for one year basis.|
